Originally envisioned as a large video wall, the Vikings Legacy Ship evolved into one of U.S. Bank Stadium’s most iconic fan destinations. Rather than treating the display as an isolated digital feature, Ripbang transformed it into a place where fans gather, celebrate, and connect with the history and culture of the Minnesota Vikings.

Inspired by a Viking longship, the 107-foot installation features a dramatic, curved 2,000-square-foot HD video screen that serves as the ship’s sail. Sculptural shields, a 13-foot dragon figurehead, historical exhibits, seasonal steam fountains, integrated wayfinding, and more than 12,000 engraved commemorative pavers combine to create an immersive experience that extends far beyond the technology itself.

The result is more than a media installation. It is a civic landmark and community gathering place that celebrates the Vikings’ identity while demonstrating how placemaking, storytelling, and technology can transform a requested feature into a memorable destination.
