AMLI Old Pasadena is a hospitality-inspired multifamily residential community located in the heart of Old Town Pasadena. Designed to blur the line between boutique hotel and residential living, the five-building development creates a vibrant, walkable neighborhood centered around wellness, community, and a strong sense of place.
Drawing inspiration from the site’s history as a former Rose Parade staging area, Ripbang Studios developed a comprehensive placemaking and wayfinding program rooted in Pasadena’s floral heritage. Each residential tower was assigned its own distinctive floral motif and color palette, creating memorable identities that help residents and visitors intuitively navigate the community while celebrating the city’s iconic tradition.
The program integrates identity signage, wayfinding, environmental graphics, murals, artwork, and amenity graphics into a cohesive experience that transforms everyday circulation into discovery. The result is a residential environment with the character and richness of a destination hotel—one that strengthens community, reinforces place, and creates a memorable living experience.
